Several friends of mine, including Derek, are going through the infamous Google interview process*. I don't envy them as I remember vividly how long and painful it can be. Sadly, we've lost several great candidates along the way, but I'm hopeful this works out with Derek. Surprisingly, there aren't a lot of great ex-Yahoos at Google. There are more folks from Netscape, Excite and Looksmart. Sounds a bit ominous to me. :)

*For the record, I think Russell was a bit over the top in his blog. Google is a tough place to interview, but the reward of working there is worth it, in my opinion.
