Newsweek's current issue has profiles of 20 top female leaders. On the cover, is my current boss at Google. One of the other profiles is of a woman who was briefly my boss at Chase 7 years ago. I'm really excited for them to have the profiles and exposure. Both are brilliant and extremely hard working.

But reading the article made me feel sad for all the mom's I know who either stay-at-home with the kids or those who work, but have to duck out between 3 and 5pm to get the kids. There are never any awards, profiles, cover stories or interviews about them. There's never a "Top 20 Mom's" fold-outs of mom's who have worked into the night to get birthday cupcakes just right or mom's who went the longest without showering in order to get the errands run, house cleaned and children cared for.

But maybe that's the whole point. They don't need the credit in paper as they get the rewards in the daily hug, smile or cuddle from their little pumpkins.
