Down with USA

Today we saw "Down with USA" written on a fence along a major street. Ellie asked what it said and I found myself stuck on how to explain to an innocent American kid how most of the world hated our existence.

On a related topic, the US Embassy asked all Americans in India to keep a low profile. When people ask us where we're from, at first my instinct is to say another country, given the warning. However, that's lame. We're not from Canada, the UK or anywhere else. We are who we are. So we are going to do our best to convince one person at a time that Americans are great people and not all of us like or support the current government. So far, we're failing with the burka ladies next door, but we're working on it. :)
